Medical problems sometimes happen when your doctor's office is closed. Monarch wants to assure you that if you need urgent care, we're available.
Urgent Care facilities are for illnesses that cannot wait until the next business day, but do not require the full services of a hospital emergency room. After-hours Urgent Care is available on a walk-in basis at Urgent Care centers throughout Orange County. Emergency room visits may involve longer wait times because the wait to be seen is based on severity of illness, not arrival time. Urgent Care centers are a proper and faster means of treating non-life threatening, urgent medical issues after hours.
In the event of an emergency, call your physician or 911. However, we're happy to provide you assistance. Below are examples of when you might use an Urgent Care or an emergency room.
Urgent Care:Symptoms best handled at an Urgent Care facility typically include:
- Shortness of breath caused by asthma or emphysema
- Stomach pain
- High fever
- Sore throat or ear aches
- Minor cuts, skin infections and rashes
- Minor fractures or broken bones
Emergency Room:In life-threatening situations, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room if you experience:
- Difficulty breathing
- Heavy bleeding
- Sudden weakness or difficulty talking
- Chest pain
- Severe head injuries
- Major burns
- Spinal injuries
